With the ‘Online works compensation’ system, ProLitteris distributes compensation to rights holders (authors, publishers, legal successors) for the use of their texts on the internet.
Publishers and site owners can claim compensation for themselves and for their authors and translators.

Criteria

In order to receive compensation, the following criteria must be met for the respective online works:

• The work must have a minimum length of 1500 characters including spaces.
• The work must be protected by copyright. This is also the case for CC-BY licences.
• The work must be published on the Internet.
• The work must have at least 500 hits per calendar year from Switzerland.

Implementation

You must sign a contract with Pro Litteris, and the platform provider would need to install a counter (in german).
