DOACH
Diamond Open Access CH (DOACH) is a resource that offers reliable, highly visible and curated information about Diamond Open Access, its opportunities and significance. DOACH also provides Swiss researchers and Diamond Open Access publishing practitioners (authors, editors and platform providers) with an overview of and access to available structures, tools, and services that improve and facilitate Diamond Open Access publishing according to established criteria and international standards.
About
The DOACH project is an initiative by Switzerland’s OJS Swiss Community of Practice – a long-standing AKOA working group comprising of all Swiss HEIs that have an Institutional Publishing Service Provider (IPSPs): University of Basel (UNIBAS), University of Bern (UNIBE), Université de Fribourg (UNIFR), Université de Genève (UNIGE), University of Zurich (UZH)/Zentralbibliothek Zürich (ZB Zürich). It is co-funded by swissuniversities (Programme Open Science II) and the partner institutions.
Objectives
DOACH will- Build a central web resource offering curated information about Diamond Open Access in general and diamond open access publishing in particular that enables scholars, editors and platform providers to make informed decisions for their own publications, further professionalise existing publishing processes and publish high-quality diamond open access journals that meet international standards.
- Design a sustainable and clear workflow to ensure the website continues to be financed and its content remains up to date after the project ends.
- Lay the foundation for a Swiss national Capacity Centre in the emerging European DIAMAS-led landscape of a European Diamond Capacity Hub and devolved national Diamond Capacity Centres. In this new global diamond open access landscape DOACH promotes the internationalisation of diamond open access publishing in Switzerland and liaises with European and global structures and initiatives.
- Communicate the resource widely and efficiently, so that the wider Swiss Diamond Open Access community including all stakeholders are aware of and can ideally benefit from the website once it goes live.
