The guidelines for learned societies, ‘Step by Step into Open Access’, provide practical guidance for the boards, executive offices and members of learned societies. Focusing on their perspective, it addresses the strategic planning of an OA transition, as well as the publishing and support of OA journals and books. It also covers the Diamond OA model.

The guide was compiled within the open-access.network project and was published in German in 2025.
